Capturing the sanbi

Onji had been traveling for a week now in the waves country. she had listened to every wives tail and rumor of mysterious goings on within a hundred mile radius of every beach, lake, pond, and puddle. and so far she had come up dry. it looked like she had to try a different country now and that would upset pain, having to give her more time. She was sitting on a log when she spotted an old hermit wearing a turtle shell on his back. the hermit spotted her aswell and came over to say hello. in a scritchety old crackly voice he announced "You are looking for something, arent you? Or perhaps someone, not something. Oh, by the way, I am Kuyikuro the hermit, who might you be." right away she was annoyed at the old man, by his voice and his unorthadox familiarity. this is mostly likly why she responded as she did. "I, am Onji Hyabusa. a Sannin ninja from the shadow country. i have killed people by the hundreds and if i were you i would be more polite." is what she said back.

so it probably supprised her when he sat down next to her and said very darkly "We all must be someone, musn't we. weather or not we choose or paths or are thrown over the edges of destiny, we are who we must be, or else we are no one at all." here the hermit stopped and looked out at the sea, as that is were the road was, perched on a cliff side. " So, how will you go about it? the whole finding the Sanbi thing. Or have you already stared looking for him...?"

Onji stared at the old hermit who must be wise beyond limit to have deduced that. she sat dumfounded, but not showing it. " I have been at it for almos a week, two days in this town alone. How did you know I was looking for the sanbi? I could have been looking for a friend or for a lover, or maybe i was just lost. How did you deduce my quest?" she sat looking at him for quite a while before he spoke.

" to look so forelorn about not finding a friend, that friend must be more than a friend. maybe a lover like you said. but then to look so grim about needing finding it at the same time would mean just the opposite. then there is fear. to be afraid of you quary and to have the grit to continue on in you pursuit means you need something from or of the object you seek yet fear. and also if it is not the object you fear then it must be the fear of not finding the object. so tell me, is the akatsuki really that powerfull, to make Deaths Shadow fear them?"

Onji sat on the rock openly agast and bewildered. she had not worn her akatsuki outfit since she left the hidout and had washed the scent of it clean from her body. she opened and closed her mouth several times to say something and then cut herself off. finaly she spoke."i do not fear them, but what they represent. they are my only chance at destroying what stands in my way. yet to fully reach my goal i cannot accompany them to theirs. its true, i seek the sanbi. maybe in his wisdom i can find consolation." a look of forelorn hope crossed her face. "You wouldnt know anything about the sanbi would you?" she asked
quietly.

the Hermit seemed lost in thought. finally standing up he said "come with me, i will show you... what you think you seek. and when you find no solace in the wisdom of his mighty words, then you must change places with me. i have been guarding him for the last three hundred years. it is I who know him best. i will show you... your sorrows..." he walked as he talked and onji rose with him and followed. the path to the cove was faily long and winding. when they got to the cove the hermit built a fire. between him and the ocean. letting the fire heat a stone to white hot he grabbed it with his bare hand and chunked it out to sea. he turned and explained it to onji. "the stone is white hot when it hits the water, so it explodes making a loud bang under water. the sanbi hears this and it is our signal for him to come. now we wait..."

and wait they did, two whole days later the ocean started bubling and frothing. the tails were the fisrt thing out of the water, then the top of its shell, finally the head rose up out of the water, the beast stood a hundred foot tall. the hermit stood watching it as it rose from the water. onji immediately was wearing her akatsuki cloak mask and ring, and then rushed foreward and punched straight through the shell on the hermits back, all the way through the hermits chest ripping out his heart.

crushing it in her hand she could feel the blood dripping through her fingers. when she noted that he no longer twitched she threw him into the forest behind her, still clutching the heart. the turtle in the bay shrieked and sank into the water. moments later a plum of water shot up and towards the bay. riding the crest of it was a man of about thirty with green hair, eyes, and pants. he wore no shirt but had an identical shell to the one the old man wore. a loud guttural sound came from the mans throat and a jet of water shot from it as he rode the wave towards the beach.

Onji easily side stepped the jet of water and it crushed a line of trees behind her. as the man watched she disappeared from the beach and reappeared next to him driving her knee into his face. having succeeded in knocking him off of the water she grabbed him by the foot as he fell away, flinging him towards the coast. with a thunderous crash he hit the cliff that ringed the alcove and fell sixty meters into the sand. he was then buried under thousands of pounds of rubble. she had been storing huge amounts of lightening chakra in her ring and now as she fell toward the beach she unleashed a bolt of lightening onto the rubble. the continueous ligtening barrage melted the stone and she then thanked the stars that the cliffside had contained a vien of iron ore, and as it melted she shaped some of it around the sanbi-bijuu, making sure to give it breathing holes.

with her power over magnetism she made a field stron enough to light the three ton chunk of iron and bijuu, then hopped on. rising up to a couple thousand feet they looked like birds and with the help of genjutsu... they were birds, a flock of perhaps a thousand geese flew over the countyside and all the way back to the akatsuki base.
