Challenge!

OOC: Just for fun, the Raikage (i.e. me) would like to battle someone!

The
arena was empty. The dusty area where the fights were held was plain
and unmarked, not a sign of recent use anywhere. The high seats
surrounding it were cold and silent. Kaede Asuka, Nidaime Raikage of
Kumogakure, walked slowly onto the dust-ridden ground. She looked
around her, one side of her mouth curling into a smile. A long time
ago, she remembered walking onto this field as a young Genin, for her
first Chuunin exam. She sat down on the ground and waited for her
opponent to arrive. She had said that she would be here for a spar, but
had no idea who would turn up to meet her.

as the wind rustled it stired up a cloud of leaves which passed in front of the raikage, about twenty meters away. they swirled up into a vortex and made a curtain that could not be seen through. as the curtain fell away it left something behind that was not there before. Ryogakure Hyakage stepped out of the cloud of leaves and waved hello to the ninja who had proposed a challenge.

he was wearing his chamelion cloak and it changed colors to that of the shadow country's banner. "any rules you want to implement before we get started?" his voice was velvet on the wind and not much above a whisper. "How have you been, Nidaime?"

OOC: Sorry for the no reply, I have exams this week and next. I will post in between them, but you'll have to wait for a day or so longer, sorry.

Her opponent had arrived, just as she had been told. The Hyakage, huh? A worthy challenger. The kunoichi thought to herself. It had been a while since her last fight, but when Ryo asked about rules, she felt that same small rush that came at the start of something exciting. "I've been keeping well, thank you, Hyakage-san. I do hope you can say the same? It has been a while since our countries have been in contact, and I haven't been informed of your well-being by my advisors." She paused, before remembering that she had been asked two questions. "And yes, though the first is fairly obvious - this is not a death match. The second...doesn't exist. Rules tend to spoil the fun, I find." She smiled as the words escaped her mouth, enjoying the little joke.

"i have kept myself in well enough condition, Nidaime-kun... indeed." Ryotoku thought that this was an under statement, because with his sister after him as fiercely as she was, living tended to be a great condition to be in. a smile crossed his face as she anounced the rules- strike that, rule. ryotoku thought that placing any other restriction than not killing each other was foolish, as it diminshed quality of the fight and reduced the effectiveness of the training excersise.

Ryo remembered meating Nidaime-kun back in the ninja wars. Back then she was the most feared kunoichi in the five great countries, as strong as an ox and more intelligent than most any ten jounin put together. (anyone who spoke differently tended to have a dramaticaly reduced life span).

it had been close to sixteen years since he had worked with her in the seven ninja cell that effectively ended the ninja wars, so he was sxcited at learning of how she had grown. he had after all taken responsibility of training her through her chounin exams.

bringing his mind back to the field a split second after it had left, he asked "Do i need to say 'GO'?" and before she could respond he had already reached into a pocket demension and retrieved his masamune. his left hand flashing through sign after sign, it came to rest halfway down the lenghth of his blade.

the sword writhed under his hand and elongated into a (japanese/chinese) dragon made of electricity. jumping straight foreward he slashed his sword downward right to left (((left to right for you))). if this attack hit then the fight would be over. he had dampened it enough to where it wouldn't kill her, but she would sustain a critical amount of chakra path damage.

Right from the start, it was clear that this fight was going to be of the high-quality and excitement that Kaede had expected. As the Raikage of course, she had to uphold the honor of Kumogakure and certainly couldn't lose so early on. Before the lightning dragon had fully formed, she was already moving. A few leaps away from her opponent gave her room to maneuver. In mid-air, her arms began to white and scores of paper sheets peeled away and floated around in the air. As the attack whipped toward her, her whole body dispersed into thousands upon thousands of sheets. The sheets then disappeared as the dragon struck where Kaede had just been not a moment before.

Now, of course, she was in a completely different place. The technique allowing her to move instantaneously, without being seen and to any nearby location. A moment later, there was a small burst of paper sheets to the left of Ryo and Kaede appeared, slashing a kunai at her opponent's thighs. She had to be careful not to aim for vital points. As soon as the kunai slash ended, she disappeared again, reappearing in a burst of paper behind him now, stabbing at his arm.

as the kunai ripped through flesh the shadow clone puffed into a cloud of smoke. Ryotoku had sent the clone in to begin the battle and had spent the five or so minutes prepping the jutsu he was about to use. he stood a mile away on a hilltop gathering chakra to points above the field. the chakra balls were a swirling mixture of air lightening and abyssal chakra and were about three foot in diameter each. they were close to ten miles above the field and now there were about a thousand of them. finishing the handsigns with his left hand, he formed a much large ball of chakra in the palm of his left hand.

rushing down into the battle area he threw the ball in the air, it passed threw all of the other orbs of chakra and as it did so the orbs linked together to form the body of a much larger chakra dragon. the ball he threw was the head of the dragon. leaping up high he landed on the head as it passed threw the last orb. by now in less than thirty seconds he had summoned the raigeki dragon, lightening dragon of the abyssal plane. riding the dragon into the the sky Ryo instructed the dragon to turn the ground below them into molten hot glass.

the dragon obeyed his command immediatly opening its mouth and purging the ground below with hundreds of lightening bolts. he reached into the pocket demension and grabbed the handle of his masamune and pulled all nine feet of it out. he began slashing at the ground, and fourhundred foot below, thirty yard long gashes were carved in the earth.

smiling he knew it would take much more than this to defeat the fox of the rain country
